More Than a Repair Shop
We are a nonprofit on a mission to close the digital divide — one repaired computer at a time.
Our Story
From Scrap Yard to Community Lifeline
CompuRescue started with a simple observation: perfectly good computers were being thrown away while families in our community could not afford one.
With 15 years of repair experience and 5 years working in scrap yards, our founder Elijah saw an opportunity to fix both problems at once. Salvage what others discard. Repair what others replace. Give back what others throw away.
Today, CompuRescue Inc. operates out of Brentwood, NY — providing professional computer repair supported by donations, while offering free repairs and refurbished devices to students, seniors, and veterans across Suffolk County.

Our Initiative
Zombie Computers
Zombie Computers is our community-driven initiative that brings discarded computers back from the dead.
We collect donated and discarded devices, salvage working parts, and rebuild them into fully functional computers. Devices that power on get refurbished. The rest get responsibly recycled.
These revived machines are given to community members who need them most — students without laptops for school, seniors staying connected with family, and veterans accessing essential services.
Our Impact in Numbers
Every repair and donation creates a ripple effect across Suffolk County.
Environmental Impact
Fighting E-Waste, One Device at a Time
Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world. Most discarded computers still have years of life left in them.
We have diverted over 2 tons of e-waste from landfills by refurbishing and recycling donated devices. Every component gets evaluated — if it works, it gets a second life. If not, it gets responsibly recycled.
When you choose CompuRescue, you are not just getting a great repair — you are supporting a more sustainable approach to technology.

The Person Behind the Mission
Meet Elijah
Now a retired volunteer at CompuRescue, Elijah is the heart and soul behind the mission. A community advocate and the original driving force who built CompuRescue from the ground up, he continues to dedicate his time and expertise to keeping the organization running strong.
With 15 years of hands-on repair experience, 5 years in scrap yard recycling, 10 years of web development, and 2 years of AI programming, Elijah brings a rare combination of technical depth and genuine care for the community.
“I saw perfectly good computers being thrown away while kids in my neighborhood could not do their homework. That did not sit right with me. So I started fixing them — and even in retirement, I have not stopped.”
